How it works.
Petalon has a weekly choice of two bouquets that go up on the website every Sunday morning. We deliver by bicycle to central London and by post to mainland UK 7 days a week.
Our bouquets are wrapped tightly in hessian to protect them on transit and they also have a small water source to see them through the day. They must be transferred to a fresh water source as soon as possible. All of our packaging is either biodegradable or recyclable. B i c y c l e d e l i v e r y
We deliver across London by bicycle 7 days a week and take same-day orders until 12 noon. Our riders arrive to pick up the day's deliveries at midday and then deliver across London until 6pm. Once the riders have packed up and left we can't take any further orders for that day.
The riders all have specific routes that we create every day in the most efficient way for getting everyone's flowers to them in time. For this reason we do not offer time slots. All deliveries are made between 12pm and 6pm. When you order your flowers you will see that we have options for you to let us know what you would like us to do with the flowers if the recipient isn't in, like 'leave with a neighbour', or 'hide in the bin store' etc, but because our product is perishable we do not offer re-deliveries. Though our riders will try their best to deliver on your chosen day, if the address is incorrect or the recipient is in Mykonos for 2 weeks and our riders have already left on delivery then we cannot refund your order.
Once the flowers are delivered, our riders will email you with confirmation of delivery and any relevant information, such as the name of the person they were left with. With many addresses like large offices or communal buildings, we aren't allowed to give the flowers direct to the recipient. If we have to leave in the post room or give to the receptionist then we will always provide the name of who we gave the flowers to. (Please see our Ts and Cs for further details.)
We cover a very large chunk of London by bicycle, our delivery area can be found here. If your desired address is not listed then we cover the rest of mainland UK with our postal service.
P o s t a l d e l i v e r y
For flower deliveries outside of our London bicycle delivery area, we offer a postal delivery service. We offer a next-day delivery service if your order is placed before 12 noon and deliveries are available 7 days a week.
As well as being wrapped in hessian with a small water supply, our postal flowers are securely boxed up to keep them safe on their journey.
As we reach such a large part of the country, we are unable to offer specific delivery time slots, however you will receive a delivery confirmation email once your flowers have been delivered. As we work with a third party delivery service, once the flowers are out for delivery we are unable to make alterations to the delivery address, so please leave instructions for where to leave the flowers if the recipient isn't in, like 'leave on doorstep'. As our product is perishable, we are unable to offer re-delivery.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you delivery 7 days a week?
Why yes, yes we do. The only exceptions to this are English bank holidays. We cannot deliver flowers by either bicycle or post on these days, or can we deliver by post on the following day.
What time will delivery take place?
Flower deliveries in London will typically take place between midday and 6pm, with 95% delivered before 5pm.
Weekday flower deliveries by post are on an AM service. 98% arrive before midday.
Weekend deliveries by post will arrive between 8am and 5pm.
Do you offer time slots for deliveries?
The route for London deliveries by bicycle are organised on the day. Because we need to be as efficient as possible with our riders’ legs we aren’t able to offer time slots.
For postal deliveries you will receive an email on the morning of the delivery with a one hour time slot.
What if the recipient isn’t in to take their flowers?
We offer the opportunity at checkout for you to give us special instructions for delivery. The flowers must be delivered as they are perishable. As such, if you do not give us instructions or if we are unable to fulfil them for whatever reason our delivery person will use their best judgement as to where to leave the flowers.
Do you do re-deliveries?
Because flowers are a perishable product we do not offer re-delivery. It is the customer’s responsibility to provide an accurate delivery address that is able to receive flowers.
Are the bouquets always exactly as they look in the pictures?
Because we always want our flowers to be as fresh as possible it is sometimes necessary to replace them during the week where the original is not available. If a particular flower isn't available we will replace it with one of equal or greater value.
